Spot Signs That Plumbing Pipes Need To Be Repaired

Posted on

Owning a home requires a lot of work on your part. It can also require a lot of work from professionals from time to time, as there are just some things better left to those with training. Take, for example, plumbing pipe repair. Unless you have a significant amount of experience with plumbing, it would be better to call for professional pipe repair. You just have to make sure that you quickly realize that there is need for such repairs by looking out for the following:

An Increased Water Bill

If you have noticed that there is an increase in your water bill that you are unable to explain, then there is a good chance that there is an issue with one or more of the pipes in the house. If all you have as evidence of this is the increased water bill, you will need a plumber to inspect all of the pipes in the house in order to determine where the problem spot is. The sooner they are able to do this, the sooner your water bill will start to go back down.

Brown Spots Appearing On Walls Or Ceilings

Depending on how and where your plumbing pipes are, you could start to notice brown water spots forming on the ceiling or walls. Those spots are the result of water leaking onto the drywall. You will want to call for professional plumbing assistance when you see these spots forming. The longer you leave them alone, the more damage will occur. Once the plumber has done their job, you can let them deal with the replacement of the damaged spots of drywall.

Decreased Water Pressure

If you go to turn on the faucet and you notice that there is a decrease in pressure, this could be because a lot of the water coming through the lines never makes it all of the way to your sink. In fact, it is exiting the pipe in one or more locations and soaking the backside of your walls or ceilings. Even if you do not see any brown spots yet, there could be significant damage that will need to be addressed.

Make sure that you are not delaying the call to the plumber. The longer you wait, the more water will have a chance to cause a lot of damage to your home. If it is the weekend or the evening, you could always search for an emergency plumbing company.
